FAQ

  • We charge a flat rate of $200 USD per day for all services. This includes dive-site entrance fees, equipment rental, transportation, and snacks.

    *Course certification fees are seperate.

  • No, we prioritize the safety of our clients. We need our instructors to be fully focused on your safety.

  • We provide all of the gear required for cavern tours, reefs tours, and certification courses.

    Full Cave Divers are expected to have their own equipment.

  • A cavern is the open area at the entrance of a cave where sunlight is still visible. Unlike open-water diving, cavern diving takes place beneath a rock ceiling, so divers cannot swim directly to the surface.

    For safety, dives stay within the daylight zone, no deeper than 21 meters (70 feet) and no more than 60 meters (200 feet) from the entrance. Divers also remain in wide, open areas and avoid narrow passages or restrictions.

    A permanent guideline marks the route in and out of the cavern. Divers follow it throughout the dive, while carrying a primary light and a backup light. The main light must remain on during the entire experience.

    With an experienced guide, cavern diving is safe and enjoyable for beginners. The cenotes visited with the Tulum Dive Center are prepared for novice divers, allowing them to explore these incredible environments without specialized cave-diving training.

  • Yes. Dives in the underwater sections of the cenotes must be accompanied by a locally registered guide.

    Because the cenotes are privately owned, only approved guides who meet the required qualifications are permitted to lead dives. Cenote diving is not allowed without the supervision of a certified Full Cave Diver.

  • Yes, you must be a certified Open Water Diver to go cavern diving. Not certified? Enroll in our Open Water Diver course!

  • Non-divers are welcome to join their friends or family on the cenote adventure by participating in a snorkeling experience. Snorkeling costs $60 USD per person, including all necessary equipment.

    Please note that cenote entrance fees for snorkelers are not included and must be paid separately. (About $25 USD depending on the cenote)

  • We will pick you up in our truck at your hotel or AirBNB near Tulum. This is included in the price!

  • Yes we do! If you are taking multiple dive courses or doing multiple days of diving, we can definitely work something out. Contact us to learn more!
